Home automation may be going mainstream now, but did you know that it's actually been around for over 30 years? While home automation systems of the 1980's certainly weren't as sleek, intuitive, or effortless as they are now, it's amazing to see how much they were still capable of... The now defunct company Unity Systems created a Home Manager which controlled multiple subsystems and was equipped with a fully functional touchscreen. Home Manager controlled the house’s outlets and switches, security system, sprinklers, HVAC, the temperature in different zones of the house, and more. What do you think of this blast from the past?
